About

Gary Christian is a known personality around the show ring since his children first began showing over fifteen years ago.  Gary graduated from Sam Houston State University with a master's degree in Ag Business.  A former public school football and track coach, Gary retired from teaching in the prison system schools a few years ago.  He has served on the Houston Livestock Show Go Texan Committee as a member and then as Ambassador, he is a lifetime member of the Walker County Fair where he served as Vice President for a number of years, he is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Texas Junior Livestock Association and was a beginning member of the Young Farmers of our county and one of the founders of our local Ag Booster club.

The Christian family began showing back in 1996 when the older girls, Katie and Mallory Parrish, started showing goats and then ventured into sheep and hogs. Both older girls are now graduates of Texas A&M University but typically are found in the stands cheering on their younger sister, Abby who is a senior this year and beginning her last year in the show ring.

The Christian family spent many weekends on the road at Texas "jackpot" shows.  Any given weekend in Texas there are numerous shows where a family can load up their animals and head out returning late on Sunday, just in time for work and school the next morning.  After years showing, the girls have great friends and lasting memories from all over the state and beyond.  We firmly believe that animal projects are a family project and just like the saying "it takes a village to raise a child," it takes a whole family and friends to get a winning animal to the backdrop.

As the girls made friends across Texas, likewise, Gary made many contacts over the years as the girl's placings progressed from middle of the road to champions.  It was in our quest to better our show goat string that we met Glen Martin, now a dear friend and advisor.  Glen is a believer in Gold Dust and it has taken his family to great heights in the show ring.

Whether you need help with Gold Dust products or locating a track dog, give Gary a call as he has contacts all over the nation.  Gary places many show goats throughout the state each year as well and will be happy to fill orders.

Gary is typically spotted at the majors wearing his signature pink cap.
Don't hesitate to come up and speak....his family has learned that when he is missing, he has found a new friend to talk to!
